Helping Google Honor Global Pride

Google recently donned Rainbow colors at their Mountain View campus to honor Pride Month and this year's virtual Pride celebrations. This included adding the multi-color spectrum to their large GooglePlex and Quad campus building signs.

This year's in-person San Francisco Pride parade is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But that's not stopping the celebration which will be transformed into an online event.  "The two-day event runs June 27-28 and will include live performances, speeches from LGBTQ+ elected officials and leaders, interviews, reflections on 50 years of the Pride movement, and more... Also, Frameline, the acclaimed LGBTQ+ annual film festival, will offer streaming content June 25-28." https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/05/20/san-francisco-pride-sets-schedule-for-pride-50-celebration/

According to SF Pride Executive Director Fred Lopez, “Our online celebrations not only highlight the spirit of Pride but help us broaden our visibility as we continue to build solidarity in our LGBTQ+ communities during a time when we must be apart.” SF Pride will also take part in Global Pride, which is a 24-hour, live-streamed celebration that unites Pride groups from around the world. Pride Month is celebrated in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots became a catalyst for Gay rights in the U.S. and around the world.  See more from Google on "Pride for Everyone": https://landing.google.com/intl/en/pride/
